Solidarity campaign with Mr. Basel Elyafei .. In solidarity with the member of the southern community in Switzerland, Mr. Basel Elyafei, the leadership of the community sent a letter of appeal to the Federal Migration Service (Asylum Office), calling the competent authorities to reconsider the decision regarding the status of Mr. Basel Elyafei and appealed to acknowledge his political refugee status, in accordance with Article III of the Swiss asylum law, especially that he was waiting for this recognition since four and a half years. The southern community calls the Swiss and International humanitarian organizations for their solidarity with Mr. Elyafei, by appealing to the Swiss asylum authorities to stop the implementation of its decision to deport Mr. Elyafei to Yemen and to grant him political asylum because his return to Yemen represents a threat to his life. No doubt that Mr. Elyafei is a political activist and he is opposed to the Yemeni government, since he calls for the freedom of his country, southern Yemen, in order to become an independent State, as was the case before the unity. That is why he has been a victim of arbitrary arrest and prosecution, and this forced me to seek asylum to save his life.
