Solo still at Cat & Cauldron till Monday or Tuesday - Liz is much better, but has to play catch-up and I am in the groove..... Swift recovery wishes & energies to Jean, who has just had a SHOULDER replacement. Oddly my own has been increasingly freezing for months, but for some reason is better today, so thanks to everyone who just wished for generic better shoulders, maybe?..... Around this time last year we were happy to report that we performed the very first handfasting ceremony permitted on Clevedon Pier, for a lovely couple who lived on the sea-front there. Not so happy to hear this morning of the death of the male partner, from cancer. When he told me privately he was a fellow sufferer, I chose not to dwell on it or spoil his day. They apparently had a loving but all too brief year or so together. The Pier is English Heritage owned and run, and the handfasting, establishing precedent, was an important step in wider acceptance of Paganism. Frankly I cant think of a better epitaph. Sail on, good sir.
