Solomon Dalung THE CAP CAN EVEN FIT THE DEVIL As the struggle for Government House Rayfield Jos heats up many strategies have been adopted to manipulate the process. As usual many had suddenly turn born again with new Bibles in their arm pits just to mislead innocent electorates with religious sentiments. Of course, this is a familiar political antics of deceptive political elements capitalising on the religious dispositions of our people to ripped them off political benefits. This group is quite vicious and deceitful because its use religious sentiments not only to blackmail opponents but create panic and insecurity to score cheap political advantages. They portrayed themselves as Saints meanwhile they are nepotistic armed with ethnic agendas. While seeking for power they are angels but in power they are ethic ambassadors limiting democracy dividends to family largesse. They promised physical and food security to the people but today our people are not distinguishable from working corpses sleeping in displaced camps with only one eye closed. Thank God the Bible is not silence about the test of good leadership, when a wicked man rules the people mourns but when the righteous are in power the people rejoice. Therefore, if we need to know those in power in Rayfield we should look at the faces of common plateau people. Enough of these hypocrisy and injustice against our own very people. We are now facing another deceitful jingles of he who the cap fits. Anyway leadership is a serious business that requires both capacity and mental alertness, antecedents is a major component. It is not accident of history or opportunity where the metaphor of the cap fitting is employed. Anybody seeking to govern Plateau State in 2015 must not be chosen on the platter of mundane sentiments. He must be a leader with talents and unprecedented guts to confront the challenges of the State. His lifestyle must be transparent and not shrouded in maradonic antics. The state need a leader with milk of human kindness that is firm and just. A father to all and not a family head of his clan. He must possess diplomatic credentials capable of redeeming the image of the state. We need a man that is agile to mobilize the confidence of the younger generations. He must be a good bridge builder so as to reconcile internal divisions of divide and rule. Such a personality cannot be he who the cap fits because it maybe another devil.
