Solstice, world and wheel turning, a dusting of snow, Maddison on way home from Bali, Glen on the road somewhere with Matt, the other grandlings tucked in tight for now. Blessings counted, years as well, though the cold makes arthritic bits of me ache. Did small morning exercises. Hope to soon be allowed to expand them. My head is beginning to work like the old me again. I gave the surgeons nurse a hug on Thursday and thanked her and the team for giving me my life back. We cried a bit. Happy tears. There are others I wish we could have saved, but thats for the long dark nights, not the shorter ones to come. Basically happy, moving forward,thinking about love ones, the new year coming, the old world a mess but my part of safer, warmer, more comforting. I am, I know, one of the truly lucky. Must spread that luck around a bit more now that I am on my feet and moving again.
