Some Churches are showing moralistic sitcoms (T.V shows) during their services inorder to be creative in their presentations of their messages and Pastors will try to make an attempt to make the connection from that particular show and somehow tie that to what the Bible actually teaches. I even heard of one Church showing Andy Griffin, shows during the Preaching hour and giving a talk about how to live the good life. Here is my question to them, Whats wrong with GODS WORD as it is? As a result of this tactic, numerous people become enslaved to their so-called Pastor and are therefore confused about the message and content of the Gospel. If a man doesnt have a real sermon to deliever to the people, He should be honest about it, and just simply read the entire Gospel of Mark or one of the Epistles of Paul during the entire Worship Hour!!! Pastors are to give the people what they need AND what is more important than the full council of GOD? For some reason, according to these spiritual life coaches, the Word of GOD is believed to be powerless to convert a Sinner or even grow a Saint in this Postmodern 21st century. But, GOD hasnt changed and His Word is still powerful! One example of this nonsense is, The Andy Griffin Show, ( Cmon, Give me a break, people) the goal is to teach a Biblical Morality among the members of the Church. If you think that The Andy Griffin Show is all about the GOSPEL; May GOD HELP YOU! Excuse me, but The Andy Griffin Show has NOTHING to do with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That show is only about Sitiuational Ethics and it is spiritually dangerous to confuse moralistic Southern ethics and connect that to the GOSPEL itself. Little Ron Howard running around and getting into trouble has nothing to do with Total Depravity or the Cross of Jesus Christ.
