Some Fundamentals? What has happened to the fundamentals of being Christian? Can we just go to church and fellowship with our church family and be called a Christian. I believe you have believe in something to be saved, to be Christian and be in the will of God. Is Jesus Christ God in the flesh? Is there such thing as the trinity? Did Jesus Christ really come from a Virgin? Does it matter about his birth? Does salvation by grace alone matter? What about the Holy Spirit? Does the Holy Spirit matter in our walk with God and the church? I believe all these things are important fundamentals. First, love is an important fundamental. God loves us. Jesus Christ loves us enough to die for us. John 3:16 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. God gave his son his only son so that that we could believe in him. Jesus died for us. That should mean something to us. John 1:1-3 (KJV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. John 1:14 (KJV) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. Jesus Christ was born into the flesh. The Word was God and born into the flesh. Jesus was God manifest in the flesh. Jesus was there before the beginning. Jesus Christ was before time began. That makes him Almighty God. That makes Jesus Christ deity. Deity is something that was never born into existence and will never die. Jesus was only born in the flesh and only the flesh died. Jesus Christ was the creator of all things in the universe. Jesus Christ spoke and it was created at the beginning of time and space. 1 Timothy 3:16 (KJV) And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. God was manifest in the flesh. This was justified by Holy Ghost. It was witnessed by the angels of God. This has been preached to the World for over 2000 years. Many have believed on in the world that Jesus Christ is this God manifest in the flesh. When the flesh died, Jesus Christ rose again and was received up into glory. Jesus Christ is real. Jesus Christ is God. Jesus Christ died for you and me. 1 John 1:1-2 (KJV) That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; 2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) John’s testimony is that the Word of Life is something they handled with their hands and looked upon with their own eyes. This word in 1 John is God manifest in the flesh that gives eternal life. This Word was with the Father God so he had to be God. There can be no doubt Jesus Christ is God. 1 John 4:1-3 (KJV) Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. Those who do not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of the antichrist. To deny Jesus is God is to be of the antichrist and of the devil. Am I missing something here? Jesus really was God. Jesus really came down on this earth. Philippians 2:5-11 (KJV) Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Jesus really made a sacrifice for us. Jesus Christ was God. He came down from heaven to did like a man for us. For this God has exalted him. What about the trinity of God. There is the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. They are three persons in one. They are always in agreement with one another. One always represents the other. They are all of the Godhead. You can find each of these three active in the Bible acting as God. Matthew 28:19-20 (KJV) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. 1 John 5:7-8 (KJV) For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. These two are the proof verses that the trinity is real in the Bible. If you change 1 John 7, you attack the trinity of God. It clearly says that these three are one. These three always agree. There are many other proofs in the Bible that the trinity of God is real. They are the Godhead. You can find the Godhead in 3 scriptures in the Bible. You will find them listed directly below. Acts 17:29 (KJV) Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and mans device. Romans 1:20 (KJV) For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Colossians 2:9 (KJV) For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. Jesus was born of a virgin. He did not have a human father, but he had a human mother. Jesus had to have the flesh of man to die for man, but he had to have the nature of God to wash away our sins. That is the reason for the virgin birth. Jesus was born of a virgin. Isaiah 7:14 (KJV) Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Jeremiah 31:13 (KJV) Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow. Matthew 1:23 (KJV) Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Luke 1:27 (KJV) To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgins name was Mary. If Jesus Christ was not born of a virgin as member of the trinity of God, no person on earth can go to heaven. No can be saved if Jesus Christ is not who he said he was. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is also critical to salvation. We can’t have faith in God to save us if Jesus Christ did not come as God. Salvation is by the power of God alone. Man cannot save himself. We are all sinners before the Living God. We must place our faith and belief in Jesus Christ alone. Romans 3:23 (KJV) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Ephesians 2:8-10 (KJV) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. John 3:16-18 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 1 John 5:11-12 (KJV) And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. John 3:36 (KJV) He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. We must believe to be saved. There is salvation in on other but Jesus Christ. There is only one way to God and salvation and that comes through Jesus Christ. John 14:6 (KJV) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Acts 4:12 (KJV) Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Romans 5:3 (KJV) And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; Ephesians 2:18 (KJV) For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 1 Peter 1:21 (KJV) Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. By the Holy Ghost we get guidance, encouragement, blessings, instruction, rebuke, conviction and helps. So many desire to find their help in books, concordances and dictionaries instead of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Spirit was sent in place of the Savior to help us. If we bear down on our Bible the Holy Spirit will show us things. Get things from false teachers and looking to the church as the final authority will lead us into apostasy. We need the Holy Spirit and the Bible. These are placed here for our help. God does use fallen men to help us, but lost men are blind leading the blind. We need to look to the true God. We need the power of God. Glory to God. John 14:13-20 (KJV) And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. 15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. 20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. The Holy Ghost is inside us when we get saved. He wants to help us. He wants to show us things. He will help us when we turn to God. He is our comfort and our instruction. He is our help. When are we going to rely on him instead of new books and new bibles? These fundamental are important to us. These fundamental are important to God. All these things are important to the Christian Life. We need them. If we stand on these things we have more blessings. We will be better people. All Glory to the LIVING God. I want to prosper. I want God to help you. I want you to know the truth. I want you to be loved. I want you find comfort. Please LORD Help them to see and believe.
