Some Ghanaian youth of today. Their mindset is going to have to continue failing them everyday because they think that classroom life is same as real life education. Today in an office where I had gone to do training for the marketing team of my friends company I had a discussion with a gentleman, client, who had visited their offices for business. Something interestingly happened when I engaged this young man in a brief yet in depth discussion on a certain matter. Now the long & short of our conversation he didnt like an advice from me. That I suggested to him to go into commercial farming after carefully listening to him. narrating his life ordeals to me & having realized that he had over 120 hectors of farmable lands somewhere in the Eastern Region. He looked in my face as if Im a certain typical stupid young man asking him to go into farming. I think he didnt understand why I was suggesting he ventured into farming as a university graduate. He finally groomed & said he would like to be like me. Haaaaaa! this young man. But you see. His face suddenly changed when I told him that I had walked bare-footed to school when I was a typical VILLAGE BOY residing in the deep cocoa forest & lived in a mud house for 6 years. His face, I could see, changed a bit more when I told him that I had also farmed on 2 hectors of land before, weaved basket, sold salted fish & Keta school-boys fish in the market before. I told him several early life of me not forgetting the fact that I reached the age of 8 before I was able to drunk hall tin of cow milk. Finally, before I went to the conference hall to continue my training I told him how sometime in Accra I slept in my salon car for a whole week for lack of decisive accommodation. I heard he would like to come & meet me tomorrow on how I can help him gather more vim for life. I dont know how Im going to help him again, seriously. Anyway, maybe I can buy him one cutlass & a hoe.
