Some are selling UV nail lamps that supposedly cure all UV gels, - TopicsExpress

Some are selling UV nail lamps that supposedly cure all UV gels, which I believe is a misleading and risky claim. Now dual UV nail lamps claim that because they are both CCFL and LED, they will cure all UV gels. I wonder, how this can be correct? This claim goes against my scientific understanding of how UV products work. So I’m wondering what proof is there that these universal nail lamps can cure any UV gel? Wheres the proof of this? What evidence supports these claims? After studying the chemistry of nail products for more than 25 years, I dont see how any nail lamp can make this claim, unless improper cure is included. Harden a UV gel is NOT the same as proper cure. In many cases, universal nail lamps either under/over cure many of these UV gels. UV gels harden at about 50-60% cure; which means they’re just a little more than half cured. When UV gels are cured below 80%, their dusts/filings are more likely to cause allergic reaction and should be avoided. Symptoms could take a few months or a few years to develop, but skin allergies last a lifetime. Fortunately this is easy to avoid, when products are used by knowledgeable professionals who use careful techniques, properly cure and keeping uncured products off the skin. Over cure can cause over heating of the nail bed which can lead to nail plate separation from the bed and the possibility of infections. How do those selling these universal UV nail lamps ensure that under/over cure doesnt occur? Are they even aware of these issues? Here’s my challenge. Companies making such claims should Prove It. If you cant prove it, why are you making these claims? My concern is that if you have no proof and are wrong; this could harm some nail professionals who may become allergic because they were mislead by your claims. So, I think it is reasonable to ask for evidence to support the your claims. Here are 5 questions for those making these claims: 1. Are you claiming the nail lamp will harden UV gels or properly cure all UV gels and do you understand the difference? 2. How do you know that your nail lamps will properly cure any/all UV gels on the market? 3. Have you tested all UV gels or even most UV gels to determine they are properly cured by your nail lamp? If so, how many were tested and what testing did you do? 4. Will you state in writing that your nail lamp will properly cure any/all UV gels on the market? If not, why? 5. Why do you think it is alright to tell nail professionals to disregard UV gel manufacturers/resellers instructions? Isnt that what you are doing by telling nail professionals to use your nail lamps, instead of the ones recommended/provided by those selling the UV gel? Everyone should be asking these questions. If you dont get good answers, then dont use these UV nail lamps. I challenge those making these claims to Prove It. I have an open mind and Ill fairly review the facts. But talk is cheap, lets see the proof. Youre already making these claims, so you should already have the proof in hand. If you dont have fact-based evidence to support your claims that these lamps cure any/all UV gels, then you should not be making these claims! #nail #nails #nailcondition #naileducation #nailschool #nailsalon #nailknowledge #manicure #nailsmagazine #scratchmagazine #nailtalkradio #nailpromagazine #nailbloggers #fingernails #naturalnail #nailhealth #healthynail #DougSchoon #naildamage #UVnail #Gelmanicure #UVgel
