Some are touting the idea that the U.S. is not really shifting toward the right, becoming more conservative, etc. They say, but, on the other hand, look at the liberalization and legalization of marijuana. But this is consistent with the Anthropocene paradigm suggesting a failing political process and more future pain and extremes. Marijuana offers exellent pain relief and softening of extremes. The system is adjusting by allowing for more self-help.
