Some assistance please. First of all, my latest work, the Norwegian gray, did this when I washed it. It is covered in these tiny bubbles of twisted things that stick out like half an inch. Did I over twist it? Secondly - the yarn has this distinctive odor akin to walking into a livestock barn at the state fair, mixed with a touch of wet dog. I suspect the reason is this lanolin I keep hearing about - but I was not expecting to encounter it in a pre-processed roving. The smell is rather pungent, and noticeable from a couple feet away. My family is not too pleased with the whole barn-in-the-house smell thats going on. Advice on how to deal with the aromatic problem, as well as what I should do to deal with it before I turn the roving into yarn for the rest of it, is appreciated.
