Some athletic people I know dont get the barefoot movement. I think one significant disconnect is the idea that training is something that only happens during intentional set times at intentional places. Every step you take influences how your body operates. If you are super intense and train your body for 20 hours a week but for the other 90 hours that you are awake you ignore your walking then guess which has more influence? Bare feet cause better body alignment and higher quality movements keeping your knees, back, hips, neck, ankles and bones safe.
