Some awesome metal history from my guitar brother Phillip Sandoval & his brother Gonzo Sandoval !!! Such a killer photo and a special moment in time! Two great fan favorite metal bands when it was all breaking wide open in 1985! And with Cliff Burton & David Prichard Fan Page no less (RIP brothers) !!! And I believe this was not too long after Dave Mustaine was booted from Metallica. So this would have been a fairly new Kirk Hammett, and Megadeth was in the process of spawning :) At the time (Feb 85), I had just been cherry picked from the band Martial Law, while backstage at our headlining sold out show at the Troubadour in (Jan 1985), we were just getting signed to Greenworld Records I believe), by Michael Bolton, who at the time was a hard rocker well known on the east coast, hailing from New York/ Connecticut, named Michael Bolton. I was signed to Bolton to replace Bruce Kulick, who had just been cherry picked from Boltons band to join the band KISS, to replace Mark St John on guitar. Mark had recently replaced Vinnie Vincent, who had earlier replaced Ace Frehley. Back then (Feb 1985) I was rehearsing with the Michael Bolton Band preparing for the upcoming tour & MTV video shoot, for the single Everybodys Crazy, from the album of the same name on CBS\Columbia, released mid 1985. In early March 1985 we shot the video on the Charlie Chaplin Stage at A&M Studios on LaBrea in LA. Later in March 1985 the national tour began. The rest is history...
