Some clarifications about #EFLU PhD Interviews this year. Even though the actual entrance test you wrote is the same, you cannot seek admission to a programme on one campus without having separately applied for admission there. If you have applied for admission to multiple campuses, you can choose where to take the interview, and that fixes the campus for which you can be considered for admission. If your interview date falls on multiple dates, you need to appear on the first day and find out the tentative schedule of interviews and your own likely slot then. If candidates before you fail to turn up, your position will improve, so your interview might well happen earlier than expected. But on the other hand, if some interviews take longer than expected, your own interview can get delayed. Make sure you sign the attendance sheet so that the Committee knows you are planning to take the interview, and provide your cellphone number there just in case. It is always advisable to be around well in advance: bring a book along to keep you company during a long wait. Committees are free to interview candidates in any order they choose, but most try to follow the order given in the notifications. If you have strong reasons and can provide sufficient proof, minor changes in the order of interviews might be possible--but please do not take this for granted. If you are differently abled, for example, you can usually be interviewed early if ask for it--this is not automatic. Entrance Test Results take a long time to prepare. They need to be crosschecked several times in order to avoid errors, and they need to be ratified at several stages to qualify for publication. There are very good reasons why it needs to be done this way, so please wait patiently. Definite dates cannot be given because definite dates cannot be given. We cannot address individual issues on this page. Wherever possible, we will try to address general issues. This page is maintained by volunteer faculty, and none of us have the information you might want ready at hand when you ask for it. For your specific problems, please call the concerned departments or helpline numbers. We cannot help you. It is usually no use asking for such help. If a faculty member or staff member finds your question on this page and knows the answer to it, you are in luck. Otherwise, your question will have to wait until a generic response emerges--if it does. As a rule, do not expect to find answers here--the usual channels are your best bet. We will post important announcements here as early as possible (as you have seen)--everything else is usually and right now extra. We are heartened by the support this page has received in such a short while. Suggestions for improvement are very welcome. Some posts have logged a bewildering 60,000 (and counting) hits! We like you (read: thank you)!
