Some events just click better than others, and in the opinion of this lowly broadcaster, last nights IWC Winner Take All 2014 was the strongest and most emotional IWC event in years. Matt Hardy and John McChesney brought a big match atmosphere reminiscent of Hardy and AJ Styles from nine years earlier, and it was great fun both watching Johns state of mind evolve as the night progressed and seeing Jimmy Nutts get a measure of retribution on his former leader. The rollercoaster of violence that was The Faces of Change & Founding Fathers I think shocked a lot of people, both due to the dramatic tone as well as the surprising climactic return at its conclusion. Andrew Palaces coming of age was something to behold as well, as what was once dismissed as a silly comedy prop ultimately directly led to his biggest career victory. Dalton Castle vs. RJ City was as good a title match as weve seen in either mans respective dominant runs, and its never a bad thing to watch Justin LaBar thoroughly humiliated. Many other talents stepped up and exceeded expectations as well, from Colin Delaney to Sammy Guevara and several others. And it was tremendous to be able to finally sit behind a mic with another successful Western PA voice, Jack Korpela. Bottom line, this was one of those cant miss events, that youll want to pick up on DVD or Digital real soon on IWCwrestling And much credit goes out to Chuck Kuzniewski for the past five years. Speaking from experience, his position is the most difficult, draining, and thankless position there is, often filled with no-win situations. But the drive and desire was always there to make things as good as they can be, and he has quite a bit to look back and be proud of. I look to the Justin Plummer era was optimism and intrigue. With the right amount of passion, thick skin, and being a student of the game, last night may wind up as only a preview of a what could be an unforgettable 2015.
