Some exciting news - One of our dog adoption coordinators foster beagles is going to be evaluated next week and, if accepted into the training program, may be a part of the USDA Beagle Brigade. We think he would be perfect for the job and would love it! We were very impressed to learn that they rescue their beagles from animal control facilities instead of breeding AND if they are released from the program for any reason, they have an adoption program where they adopt the dogs out instead of disposing of them. The working dogs are retired at 9 years old and typically are adopted by their handler that they have worked with throughout their career. Because of this opportunity for Eeyore, we are going to work with the USDA to help save beagles in our area animal control facilities. There are specific criteria of dogs that would qualify. We may need fosters at times. If you would be interested in being a part of this effort, please private message us. We will adopt out any of the dogs that are not accepted into the program.
