Some facts about LPU, Punjab : LPU has a water treatment plant which treats 5 million litres of water per day! LPU has over 18,000 students in hostels and 72,000 meals are made everyday for them with an approximate total of 2,88,000 chapatis everyday using machines similar to that installed in Golden Temple, Amritsar. LPU is the only university in Punjab to be on electricity hotline with an average consumption of 126 Kilowatt/day. IGI Airport, Delhi is considered to be Indias most secure place with 2500 cctv cameras installed and LPU easily beats that with over 3500 cctv cameras around campus which record over 20 terabytes of video footage everyday. UMS can cater to more than 30,000 unique hits. The current database size of LPU is more than 50 GB. If it is printed on A4 sheets and the sheets are placed one after the other, they will cover the distance from Jalandhar City to New Delhi
