Some feedback on the following convo would be awesome. I will provide the link at the bottom if anyone cares to chime in on the actual convo as well. READ THIS AND SEE WHY PEOPLE WHO WANT ONE WORLD ALSO THINK THEY ARE ENTITLED TO YOUR MONEY!!! *(Gordon W. Mach) It is not a matter of socialism or captialism... any responsible Democratic-Republic as affluent as America should provide Universal Heath, Education, and Welfare for its peoples.. and the Billionaires should be paying for THIS and not their Banks and War Machines ! *(Robert Crawford) I disagree. A government or State agency can assist someone in gaining a better income while assisting them with resources, but regardless of ones position in the community or workforce there comes a time when the program ends. It is folly and instigates laziness in the people to keep assisting them without teaching them. Give a man a fish he will eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime. As to and the Billionaires should be paying for THIS.... seriously? It is not the RESPONSIBILITY of those who EARNED their wages to pay for those who have not. *(Douglas Raymond Gustafson) I dont think anybody deserves billions of dollars. Its too much for one person to handle. Sure maybe its ok to make millions by working hard, but nobody has worked hard enough to deserve billions. If you have tons of resources, its your responsibility to help other people. If you dont then a Government program will eventually be created to solve the problem (badly). If the billionaires had been nice and actually created the kind of jobs that are needed (higher paying jobs) there would be no need for a Government program. Millionaires and Billionaires complain about the taxes they pay (which are lower than many middle class people in terms of percentage) but if they spent their money (on whatever they wanted) there would be no tax on it. We have created a system that encourages the rich to save. All they have to do is sit on their cash and it will make interest for them. Regular people have to work for a living. We need to change the economy so that the rich spending their money on building the future is encouraged. Use the taxes to pump into small business grants, tech schools, scientific research and education. Please stop defending the billionaires. They have manipulated the system to give themselves even more billions while draining the middle and the millionaires too. The social programs we have could be run a lot better too. The US is just the new version of Rome, and the programs we currently have are bread and games. It would be cool if we cooperated even further and came up with something truly groundbreaking. A welfare program where you get paid to work and learn a valuable skill. Then a direct network of jobs/skills would be available after learning. If no jobs available, continue to pay, continue to learn. We need to empower people (teach them how to fish). Both Government and Corporations kind of make the individual feel worthless, when were not and theres so much to gain when we finally get it. *(Robert Crawford) The fact that you said people dont deserve billions and that its there responsibility to take care of others because they do is enough to end this conversation. Thats one of the dumbest things i have ever hear. *(Douglas Raymond Gustafson) Ok, so they made the billions, then what? What do they do with it? Is their only responsibility to themselves? Their 6 houses? Their Foundation? Their various investments? How is the conversation over? If I was a billionaire I would want to be held to that standard as well. Do you think that just because somebody has billions of dollars, that they automatically EARNED it? Do you think they are so morally good that they deserve as much as they can get? What about the people who work really hard and contribute and just get kicked to the curb? Im not saying that being a billionaire inherently a bad person but they certainly didnt work hard enough to earn billions. Think about 1 billion, which is more than 999,999,999. For 1 billion dollars you can have 1000 millionaires. I guarantee that if it was distributed more evenly, you would have more individuals who were light millionaires creating all kinds of new projects. Concentration of wealth into the hands of a few (hoping that it will trickle down) was a nice experiment. Weve tried it for over 100 years, but it has its set of problems that we cant ignore. All Im advocating for is increased taxes on excess wealth that isnt being spent. I dont see the problem with that. When we had a strong middle class in this country, the rich were taxed over 90%. Im not saying it should be that high at all, but they need to pay a higher percentage than a regular working person for sure. *(Robert Crawford) What YOU would do with YOUR money is YOUR choice. Why cant you see that? YOU have absolutely NO right to tell ANYONE what to do with ANYTHING that is theirs and the same applies in reverse. I dont care what they have. It is THEIRS. IF they CHOOSE to help others then that is awesome. The problem with ONE WORLD people is that they feel entitled to others hard work. How about get off your lazy asses and go make it for yourselves? -TIGER
