Some friends have been asking me recently, Manyou why arent you that active on Facebook having fun like before? Even if Barcelona wins, Messi scores, Madrid and CR7 are defeated or Chelsea and Mourinho are defeated, we dont see you writing or saying anything. Youve gone quiet. Whats going on? I tell them that I am busy with some other personal businesses. But the truth here is, my plate is full. How can one have fun with your friends like before on social media when some of those friends have already lost nearly all of their family members to a faceless and wicked disease? Everyday on Facebook or other social media, there is a death news either about a friend, friends family member/s, your own family member/s, former classmates, a colleague or a productive and a promising youth. Yes, my plate is full. This is no time for too many fun. There is nothing funny with a virus that wipes out an entire family. Upon seeing the news of a fallen brother and a sister, the next question is whos next? When I see calls on my phones screen, I brace myself for shocks though praying for the best always for my country and its people. Oh God, you are the all knowing and most beneficent. Please protect my country and its people. From a coup detat to a 14 year civil war, to the Ebola virus. Weve seen and been through a lot. Just early this morning, I saw some Facebook profiles with the news of about 8 to 9 people dying of house fire at the intersection of Carey and Gurley Street. It was around 4 am this morning. I tried to get over it and forced myself to sleep but couldnt. However, with the help of two Advil PMs, I finally went to sleep at about 5:45 am after praying. My country is a country of 3.5 million people with just one fire truck. Death nowadays, has become very cheap. As we plan for other life changing moments, it is planning for us. God, please allow our people to enjoy this remaining part of our lives. We are and will also be grateful to your for our existence as a nation and people. #
