Some good news on my Book 0 Project progress: For years, I have - TopicsExpress

Some good news on my Book 0 Project progress: For years, I have been looking for an editor and a team of artists to provide their services for the Book 0 Project, but most people wont go near the religious tones and scary imagery of the story...which has a sort of Twighlight of the Gods feeling to it, as gods die left and right in this series...not to mention I touch on a lot of sensitive social topics, like the mob vs. the individual and other issues that humanity has been dealing with since day one. I have been told there is something sinister about the whole book, and have had people start up on the thing only to back at mid-way because they hit a point where they realize where they think the story is headed or about. I even had atheists back out because they didnt like something so religious. I got news for them: its fiction. This isnt a religious book...I will never claim to believe in any of the gods I create for this story, or any other for that matter. How can anyone claiming to be atheist get nervous over this stuff? My guess is it has a lot to do with the anti-herd feel of the book, as there is a little something for someone in here hahahaha. So, to the positive note: Today, I had one local artist finally make good on their end of the deal and actually finish a concept sketch for me based on the notes I left them. It is a cleaner, more detailed version of my Weaving Oak and I must say I do like it. As soon as I watermark the thing, Ill be sure to share it as I already have their permission to do so. I also have other artists lined up for this whole thing, so finally, this shit is finally going places. All these small-minded people who are too afraid to touch a work of fiction can take a flying leap. In February, I begin the hunt for an affordable editor who doesnt mind grinding through 800 or so pages, maybe more. This book is going to be what I consider my magnum opus so it really needs to be pretty, as one day it is going to be in a pretty leatherbound cover with the foofy little ribbon bookmarks in it. I wont settle for anything less than great for this one...but pretty damn good may suffice. ;)
