Some great debates taking place...Really good post Aziz r.e the Cole & Yorke/Suarez & Sturridge comparisons... No doubt... Suarez & Sturridge are setting the premiership alight... But people are right, when theyve said those two have benefited from not having to play in as many domestic games & no european games this season... Our squad would be STRETCHED to its bare limits if we had to compete in those as well... Hence why it is absolutely CRUCIAL that BR goes out this summer and recruits players that can not only compliment the squad and add quality/depth to it, but players that can compete on all fronts and accept being rotated for those competitions... I also want us (the LFC lads) to cool this We are gonna win the league talk fellas... Its getting to me a bit r.e King Kalam, Gareth Rickhuss and whoever else is saying it... We havent won anything and reality is... We may not win anything... Yes... As youve all mentioned in your posts... You want/we need Man-Yoo to do us a favour against Man City... Just the fact that your saying it, shows that we are not in pole position for anything! Yes we are challengers (for the title) and have a chance, but thats all it is? An outside chance... Im not saying dont enjoy the results fellas and the excitement/adrenaline of it all (end-of-season climax) :-) Im very much in my element with you guys right now (with the way the team is performing going forward)... But Im having flasbacks lol... I can forecast whats gonna happen in this group lol and one or two Man-Yoo fans are like ticking time bombs... Just waiting to blow! Lol... Dying to see us end this incredible run of form... Ive seen it happen in the 2008-2009 season (when I was the one guilty of running his mouth off to all MU fans and I didnt take no prisoners! I was calling out NAMES haha lol... So if I can pass on any solid advice... its this... Just look at how Brendan Rodgers handles each media question... The million dollar one being... So Brendan, you must surely believe now that your team can win the title? Brendan replies... We are only thinking about our next game... That is our focus and has been each week... We havent spoken about any league title... Yes, we are on a good run of form, but the players are not getting carried away... This paraphrased lol but I think hes pretty much saying this every week... What Im getting at here fellas is this... Obviously he knows/believes hes got a chance... But he doesnt have to tell them that ;-) Thats how we should be! Mourinho is the same! Clearly knows and believes that the title is very much in his claws lol, but doesnt get caught up in all the hysteria & media circus... That is where the likes of Kevin Keegan & Rafa Benitez admittedly made mistakes (wearing their hearts on their sleeve)... We just need to stay humble and enjoy it... Rather than thinking the title is already in the onion bag ;-) After 24 years, experience tells you not to fall into that trap of grabbing the bait lol...
