South Shields parkrun Event number 87 20th December 2014 Mens placings: Steve RANKIN (SM30-34) of Sunderland Strollers, was first over the line in 17:23 - 4th time in 5 appearances. An unknown runner was second. Graeme TAYLOR (SM25-29) of Morpeth Harriers & AC, was third over the line in 18:18. Current standing in the Mens annual points competition: Michael MCNALLY (Unattached) 2513 pts. Tommy COPP (South Shields Harriers and AC) 2288 pts. Ian WALTON (Unattached) 2186 pts. Womens placings: Rachel RICHARDSON (SW25-29) of Mossley Hill AC, was first (16th overall) over the line in 22:23 - first appearance. Amy BOUND (VW35-39) of South Shields Harriers and AC, was second (24th overall) over the line in 23:14 - was first to finish once before. Vicki THOMPSON (VW40-44) of Jarrow and Hebburn AC, was third (34th overall) over the line in 24:37. Current standing in the Womens annual points competition: Lesley Ann STOBBS (Unattached) 3054 pts. Melanie CAVE (Unattached) 2658 pts. Jeanette HEWITSON (Unattached) 2360 pts. The following runners recorded the best Age Grade scores: Kieran MOFFAT (JM15-17) was graded 74.49% for the time 18:41 (6th overall). Steve RANKIN (SM30-34) was graded 74.40% for the time 17:23 (first overall). Jay BOWLEY (VM40-44) was graded 73.79% for the time 18:38 (5th overall). This week there were 93 runners, of whom 18 were first timers and 1 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 19 different athletics clubs took part. South Shields parkrun started on 20th April 2013, and since then 1,850 different runners, including participants from 142 athletics clubs, have completed 9,078 runs covering a total distance of 45,390 km, and there have been 2,345 new Personal Bests. The womens record is held by Aly DIXON who ran in a time of 00:17:45 on 2014-09-13 (event number 73). The mens record is held by Michael MORRIS who ran in a time of 00:15:55 on 2014-03-01 (event number 46), and by Daniel JENKIN who also ran 00:15:55 on 2014-05-24 (event number 57). The Age Grade course record is held by Elaine LESLIE who recorded a 87.14% run (18:24) on 5th April 2014 (event number 51).
