Some great storms around late this afternoon (9March). Conditions will only marginally change this week. Lightning was fairly prolific around Darwin. I noticed on the lightning map that Hector on the Tiwis really did go mad - widespread right across the islands. Ill give some stats later on. The deeper dry air should only affect the Darwin region mid week with a pocket hovering, but moisture soon returns after that. The models suggest drier air really only affecting up to Adelaide River, but coastal and rural storms should persist. The advent of the Cyclone in the Gulf possibly shifting westwards as it crosses the NT/Qld border will be the moisture provider and hopefully some good shear also.
