Some have asked me how Jan and I have stayed happily married for almost 42 years. It is not because we have our acts together or went to the right marriage seminar or because we have not failed. It has come to this beautiful thing because of Gods mercy and the power of forgiveness. Long-term success in a marriage comes because two people commit themselves to each another through the thick and thin of living life together. This kind of love grows because no matter what obstacles stand in the way love will always find a way. If two people live in the light of Gods truth nothing will be be able raise itself up between them because there is nothing between them except the presence of the One who put them together in the first place.
