Some highlights of todays Joint Session of the International Parliament: Parliament almost unanimously votes to give wide range of powers to the War Council of the Continental Republic to respond to the current Israel-Gaza crisis should the ceasefire agreement proposed by Egypt fall through. Parliament also authorised the War Council to deploy preliminary troops in the western regions of the Ukrainian Sub-Division if cross border fire between the Ukrainian Sub-Division and the Russian Federation does not immediately halt by the end of the week. In response to recent questions by IMPs concerning immediate action in the United States to help deal with the immigration crisis, President Biscocho won full support of a resolution that would be put to the United Nations Security Council detailing aide and infrastructure that the US could use, but the proposal stops short of allocating financial aide from the Continental Republic. This is not just a domestic problem here in America, but is a problem on an international scale. Therefore it is not the responsibility of one nation alone to provide solve the issue, but the duty of all states involved. However, that does not mean I will waste tax payer dollars on such a controversial issue in a foreign country. If the United States were still a part of the Continental Republic, then they would receive our tax dollars, remarked the President following the Parliamentary Session. Finally in Parliament, an official election date was set by the President for the beginning of term elections that will also include (as far as we know) the election of a new Head of Government. The President has yet to announce if he will seek his fifth and final year in office.
