Some history from Life Member John Costello: Trevose Fire Company of Bensalem Township Bucks County, PA was a long time Oren customer, starting in 1956 when the Corbitt chassised 750 g.p.m. engine was purchased. During a visit to the oren factory, the committee saw a 1954 Ford F-6 that a customer had sold back. Trevose needed a smaller, maneuverable pumper to negotiate some tight streets in a neighborhood called the Grove and arrangements were made to purchase the F-6 along with the 1956 unit under construction. In 1973, a Cincinnati cab, Duplex chassised Oren was purchased to replace a 1947 White-Buffalo that was growing to small for the growing needs of the company. The 1973 Oren was the Companys first 1000 g.p.m engine. In 1974, plans were made to replace the F-6 and a Ford F-6000 was ordered through Ernie Days New Jersey Fire Equipment in Laurel Springs, NJ. Due to problems in delivery of the chassis to the Oren plant, this unit wasnt received by the company until 1975. The final Oren was a 1978 1000 g.p.m. Quad that carried 212 feet of ground ladders, including a 50 foot Bangor complete with tormentor poles.
