Some honesty about pro bono. Not every representation results in a great feeling of accomplishment. Sometimes we leave a representation knowing more ugliness about the world than we wanted to and with the unfortunate knowledge that more is to come. Sometimes, it can be too much to think about, especially when it involves children. So, why do our volunteers continue to do this? No answer here, but they do.
