Some important interview tips or suggestions as understood during an interaction with one member of UPSC after an event - 1- The candidate should be very straight Should not try to confuse or give vauge answer. If you do not know anything say "no" because if you give vauge answers, the interview member will ask more additional questions on that topic and then candidate will be in trouble. 2- What you mention in your Detailed application form (DAF) for mains should be correct and you should know about your DAF in detail. Also additional info like importance of your home town, any historical event, university, your college, school, problems in your city and nearbye etc. Hobby should be real and you need to explain if anything is asked. 3- Current issues those are coming in newspapers and also small issues like any andolan, movement, protest, discussion on some law, or bill, and schemes of govt and suggested improvement. 4- latest technological news and updates. 5- environmental and scientific outcomes on diseases or treatments. 6- current economic trend, RBI outlook for last 2-3 months, market related movement, rupee v.s dollar, world economic climate, problems in world financial system or problem in some country and solution appearing in news papers, news channels etc. 7- current issues in international front their background, who are main players, what are their motive, gain and loss for each player, importance from indian point of view, how india should approach the problem.
