Some insist we haven’t heard the last of the George Zimmerman trial, and they’re right. Although maybe not in the way they think…The Zimmerman verdict is in, the trial is history, and any federal civil rights case is probably doomed to fail. But it just won’t leave the news, because we’ve now entered the period when everyone tries to extend their 15 minutes of fame. Prosecution witness Rachel Jeantel expounded on the “N-word” to Piers Morgan. The prosecution boasted of the devastating case they would’ve made against Zimmerman, if only the evidence hadn’t gotten in the way. The defense took to other talk shows to call the prosecutors a disgrace to the legal profession, which really takes some doing. And one juror talked to Anderson Cooper, while another’s already signed a book deal. I know from personal experience that writing a book takes time. Probably the best thing for America would be if by the time it comes out, we’ll have all moved on enough not to read it.
