Some inspiration... This is a very powerful inspiring quote. But, I feel like change takes time, overcoming insecurities is a process a challenge. This is something I am accepting now, everyday I challenge myself to take opportunities that will allow me to break out of my shell. Whether that has to do with meeting more people, doing more programs with my school NAACP chapter. I also understand that there is nothing wrong with being an introvert is ok and I can still lend my voice out of social network sites, whether that is Tumblr, twitter or Facebook which is what I do now, my voice and opinion will but heard. But, speaking about things Im passionate about: social justice issues, police brutality, the poor, issues that affect women of color and people of color mean alot to me and it is liberating and amazing to me when I find myself speaking in front of my peers. Even though each time I do so I become extremely nervous and afraid, I am very proud of myself afterwards. Sometimes the fear of doubting myself and the fear of judgement all to often get in the way, I too often stand in the background. I must remind myself that I am capable of all things no matter what obstacle has come my way. My words, my voice, my mind and what I believe are important & can change the world, I can change the world, you can change the world. Because we are powerful beyond measure and we were made to be amazing human beings. Fear can push you to overcome challenges that come your way. Fear as well can hold you back. Whenever you find yourself doubting yourself, remember these words. Dont be afraid of your inner brightness, let it shine. You never know who you can inspire one day.
