Some kids have not parents/Living an Hostel Life One sister wrote in my inbox – Pastor, Abhi to main study kar rahi hun but usake bad mujhe achi job mile, isliye prartrhana kare. MUJHE MUMMY & DADDY NAHI HAI ………. My heart is touched by these kids. Many kids have to go to hostels because of poor educational facilities where their parents work. Others are left in hostels by parents who work overseas. Having parents and to be separated from them is painful indeed. One child said, I keep mummy-daddys photograph under my pillow and at nights I shed tears looking at them. Another child asks, Is it my sin that has separated me from my parents? Another wails, I have no love for my parents since from a very tender age I was left under the care of my grandparents. Samuels parents left him in the temple, when he was three or may be five years. Do you think he happily stayed back? I dont think so. He would have cried, I dont want this new dress; I want to come home, whenever his parents visited him. But his parents had to harden their hearts and leave him. He would have hugged the little dress and cried thinking of his mother. He couldnt even go home for a holiday (1 Sam 1:24; 2:19). Samuels company was just the retiring priest and his wicked sons. But of all the children of Elkanah, SAMUEL WAS THE ONE TO BECOME A PROPHET. It is told of him, that he grew in stature, and in FAVOUR BOTH WITH THE LORD AND MEN (1 Sam 2:26). Even though Elis sons grew up under their parents care, we know their end. Follow the example of Samuel and the Lord will bless and honour you. My story: You know even my parents died when we were very young, even a child. My daddy died of Asthma when I was a child. I still vividly remember the Asthma stroke, that he got that day & he was rushed to the hospital. Our small hut was adjacent to the Mumbai Pune Road & so we could see him pass by. We waved to him & as he looked out of the taxi window & lifted up his frail hands to wave back, he collapsed & that was the end. He never returned back. We were so innocent that we had no idea what death was & what it was to lose our daddy who loved us so much. After he left us, we saw poverty which many may have not seen. Thereafter, mummy used to get a meager pension of 130 rupees (those times) & all of us were schooling. We did not have any future & we could just manage to finish our 10th standard. We couldn’t study further as we did not have money. We took up odd jobs. I also started to have asthmatic attacks as the doctor’s told us that Kids were more likely to develop asthma if there was a family history of allergies and asthma. This was especially true if a childs parents have asthma and certain allergies. I have a very big testimony to share which I will do one day, when God leads me. But, I remember the day I gave my life to Jesus was the most blessed day of my life. Jesus blessed me & he healed me of this sickness & other deadly sicknesses. He lifted me up & now I am married for more than 23 years having two lovely children & they have finished their graduation, where I had never seen college. So, my beloved saints, cheer up, Jesus will make you a success! Alleluia!
