Some may say our baby looks different but to us he is the epitome of perfection. Right now I have 1.5 pounds of pure amazement dancing around in my belly. Today we confirmed our little boy has Spina Bifida. We are lucky in that his lesion is small and low on his spine meaning he will likely walk his entire life. Where he may not be in a wheelchair there are still many struggles that accompany this disease. Many can not truly be determined until baby Dean blesses us with his presence. Our Neurologist believed the odds where very much in our favor that Dean will live a long and fulfilling life. I can not feel sorry for my sweet baby boy for if I do he may live life feeling sorry for himself. His little life will have its struggles, as most do. He will have obstacles to overcome that so many do not. He will have difficulty in areas others have ease BUT my sweet baby boy will always know he can accomplish anything he may dream of doing. In early January we will proudly become the mommy and daddy of the most perfect baby boy that we always dreamed of having and for that.... Today we are blessed!
