Some may think its time to stop talking about Christmas. I heard on K Love today that 15% of people take down their Christmas decorations the day after Christmas and 75% take them down on January 6th. So if your are tired of Christmas---do not read this and if you are part of the 75%-------read on. :) “Christmas! The very word brings joy to our hearts. No matter how we may dread the rush, the long Christmas lists for gifts and cards to be bought and given--when Christmas Day comes there is still the same warm feeling we had as children, the same warmth that enfolds our hearts and our homes.” ― Joan Winmill Brown How quickly Christmas comes and goes. As I sat and watched my two granddaughters open their presents the realization hit me that I would turn 65 the next day. How quickly life comes and goes. When my brother and I were little, one Christmas we got up early and had all our presents opened before Mom and Dad woke up. The excitement and anticipation got the best of us. We really got in trouble for that and never did it again. When God gave us the gift of His Son, Jesus, His love not only enfolded our hearts and homes but the entire world. As a child I always had much excitement and anticipation as Christmas drew closer. Not only did God give us the gift of His Son but has also promised a place called heaven. I think that heaven is beyond human description. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. I Corinthians 2:9 KJV As I have gotten older I am beginning to feel the same excitement and anticipation about heaven that I did as a child about Christmas. Heaven-----I have a sneaky suspicion that it is going to be like Christmas morning from a childs perspective, everyday, for all eternity. We will experience that same warm feeling we had as children because those who believe in Jesus as the Son of God become children of God. Thank you God for sending the best gift of all-----a Savior.
