Some mechanical help wanted please 1.9 petrol, watercooled. Van starts, runs and drives spot on but once engine is hot and im stationery smoke starts to come out of the heat exchanger/ warm air feed to the air intake and air filter housing. Ive disconnected the air box to the heat exchanger now coz it was getting quite hot but smoke will still come out of the open pipe of the heat exchanger? Smoke out of exhaust tip is clear. Does anyone know what could be causing this or if it is dangerous?

Not sure what possessed me to do this, but I put together a list
