Some moments are far too big for words. Last nights show in - TopicsExpress

Some moments are far too big for words. Last nights show in Grefrath, Germany lifted us all to the stars. It had been sold out for four months (a tiny place with 80 seats), and the people were so excited for the event, after seven years away. One young woman brought a CD I had signed for her in that same venue in 2002. The band was just incredible. Then the late night wine and conversation with Chris and Sonja under the stars... and I played them one more song, which I apparently wrote a couple of months ago in anticipation of the moment it was about (last night). Time and art are funny that way. They can flow in all sorts of directions. Today I will just play one song publicly. My dear friend Christian, whose son is my Godson, lost his mom on Saturday. Today is the funeral, and they have asked me to play Chuck Brodskys beautiful song We Are Each Others Angels. So deeply honored, and grateful that the timing worked so that I could be here just now. I loved Chris mom too, and hoped I would see her once more, but actually, I think this is just as it should be. If I had seen her, I would have gone by the hospital to play a song for her. Turns out I get to play it for her today instead. And its all far too big for words. I can only describe it, I cant truly convey the essence. Feeling profoundly moved by all of it, though, and deeply, deeply grateful.
