Some news stories were following today: A newborn baby in Quebec is back with her mom after a harrowing separation that lasted nearly four hours. Police say a woman dressed as a nurse walked into the moms hospital room at Ville Marie in Trois-Rivieres around 7pm. She took the one-day old baby girl and walked out. Authorities cancelled the Amber Alert after they found the infant unharmed. Police arrested the suspect at her home. One of the victims of Fridays mass murder in California is a 19 year old man from Ottawa. George Chens parents visited a makeshift memorial in Alta Vista. California last night and remembered their son as a gentle soul who loved working with children. Chen was one of the attackers roommates... killed with a machete. In total, six people were killed... all University of California students. The school is planning a memorial on campus this afternoon. An underwater recovery team believes it has located the bodies of three canoeists missing for more than two weeks in Slocan Lake, BC. The RCMP says it appears the bodies of a 15-year-old boy and two young men are in about 150 metres of water and farther from shore than originally thought. A 19-year-old woman was found in the half-submerged canoe, soon after it capsized, but could not be revived. The RCMP dive team will help with the recovery effort tomorrow. If you think owning a home in Canada is tough these days, its likely going to get worse -- at least according to the Royal Bank. With house prices continuing to rise... RBC says its affordability index deteriorated in the first three months of the year. The biggest hits were in the hot markets of Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver. The index represents the percentage of pre-tax income needed to own a home, including mortgage, utility payments and property taxes. In Ontario, for example, the affordability index for bungalows and two-storey homes was at the highest level in 24 years.
