More than 100,000 people are expected to flee the Middle East due to the civil war in Syria. Canada has already promised to accept 1,300 refugees but the UN hopes that number will increase. In addition, Canada has contributed millions of dollars in humanitarian aid. The Quebec woman accused of kidnapping a newborn baby will undergo a psychiatric evaluation. 21 year old Valerie Poulin Collins made her first court appearance yesterday. The infant and the parents at the centre of this case were also there. The suspects lawyer says she hasnt been able to have a rational conversation with Poulin Collins... and wants to ensure shes fit to stand trial. She will be back in court next Thursday. Ford is the latest company to recall vehicles in North America. The Michigan based auto giant will recall more than a million SUVs due to issues with power steering. This includes nearly 200,000 explorer models manufactured between 2011 and 2013. Older Escape and Mercury models are also affected. And nearly 300,000 sedans are on the list because of issues with corrosion and floor mats that interfere with use of the pedals.
