Some of my favorite pictures of my lovely friend Dorrie. Favorites because of the images themselves and for the memories associated with them. I loved to get her laughing! Especially if I would say something off the wall or a bit naughty. She would say, Priscilla!! in an admonishing tone but with a coy twinkle in her eyes. She and I shared the love of music, especially live performances. We got to see the Monkees in concert at a theatre in Indiana. After the show, while we were driving away we saw their tour busses parked in the lot. Dorrie turned to me and said, Lets go back and wait by the busses. Yes! Well be groupies! Cmon! When will we get to do this again? With such sound reasoning, how could I possibly resist? So we went back, waited in the drizzling rain with a bunch of other groupies, talking and freezing. We were giggling like teenagers when we got to meet and take pics with Davey Jones and Mickey Dolenz. She was absolutely thrilled. Dorrie loved to go everywhere and anywhere. Every trip with her was an adventure. I love you Dorrie. I thank you for your love and friendship. I promise not to wallow in these tears for too long. You wouldnt stand for it and youd kick my backside for feeling sorry for myself about you having to leave us. I choose to celebrate your life by being joyful, making life a happy one, enjoying the little things, being brave and going for what I want, and laughing even more. Youre in my heart. Always.
