Some of my foreign friends have asked me to explain why it is so - TopicsExpress

Some of my foreign friends have asked me to explain why it is so difficult to unravel Thaksins regime? After all, PM Yingluck has dissolved Parliament and then has also been dismissed as Acting PM by the National Anti-Corruption Commission, so what is the problem? Normally when an acting PM is removed or resigns the whole Cabinet which has been selected by the PM would also resign en masse! But in this case, under Thaksins directions, who is in Singapore orchestrating every move, the remaining Cabinet members are ordered to remain in office to act as an obstacle for the transfer of power to the Thai people. Not only that, this illegitimate Cabinet has furthermore appointed an acting PM, something it has no power to do so. One must also understand that the upper echelon of Government has been encrusted with officials over the past 10 years who have benefitted from being part of Thaksins machinery. Some may have bought their positions in order to have access to illegal gains. Others remain silent; fearful that they may be transferred to a lesser position and replaced by one who is obedient to Thaksin. And some others who have been guilty of embezzlement or abuse of power, remain quiet to delay their day of reckoning. Their game is over! But they still are occupying the messed up green. They wont let us on the turf, to clean it up and amend the rules of the game so that it is fair for all. Then we could restart playing ball again with the crowd cheering again for their favorite team!
