Some of the King James Bible believers do not believe in the Gap. They always say that the Hebrew word REPLENISH means TO FILL. They simply hold and limited on that particular meaning and nothing else. But I think there are several necessary things in this matter we need to see further along. 1. In the Webster dictionary 1828 does cite one meaning of REPLENISH as TO FILL; to stock with numbers or abundance but it also cites the following as a definition; To recover former fullness. 2. Our God and the translators of the KJB did use the word FILL in Gen.1:22, just six verses before the Lord told Adam to REPLENISH the earth. In addition to that, the Hebrew word behind FILL in verse 22 and verse 28 is the very same word in both cases. Once again the Bible believers are faced with two distinct English words from a singular Hebrew word. We Bible reader are now presented with two conclusive words. For now, it is sufficient to say that God inspired the KJB translators to put FILL as part of their working vocabulary to avoid confusion in the future. Why would God use the word REPLENISH within six verses of having used the word FILL If He indeed meant TO FILL? 3. Replenish unquestionably means TO FILL but that is not all it means. (Ex.) When you pull up to the gasoline station to FILL your car with gas, you are also REPLENISHING the gas in your tank to former fullness. Unless it is literally the first time you are filling it. Replenish means to FILL or FILL AGAIN It does not mean ONLY to fill, it means FILL AGAIN. You may replenish your glass of ice tea or a plate of food, but you wouldnt say, I was replenishing these things If you were filling them for the first time.
