Some of the atheist groups Im a part of here on FB are advocating taking a debunk Christmas attitude. I think thats a huge mistake. First of all, its being intolerant of other peoples points of view, Secondly, I think any holiday that tries to get people to be nice to one another for one day out of the other 364 is a good idea in general. Third, I think, as Terry Pratchett put it, you need to train kids to believe in the little lies, like Santa, or Jesus, so they can practice in believing in the big ones: you know, things like Justice, Mercy, Fairness.... those sorts of things.
