Some of the important understandings required for one who wants to attain spiritual enlightenment. 1. In this age of kali, the way to attain spiritual enlightenment is chanting the Hare Krishna Mahamantra offencelessly. 2. Chant 16 rounds of Hare Krishna Mahamantra on japa beads daily without fail (before taking prasadam, preferably) 3. Follow the 4 regulative principles 4. Eat only Krishna prasadam 5. Take shelter of a bona-fide spiritual master and follow his instruction without fail. Serve him unconditionally in various ways as always as possible. 6. Associate with devotees in serving them and helping them in their pursuit to become Krishna Conscious. 7. Study Srimad Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam translated by Srila Prabhupada in detail including the purport as a minimum under the guidance of a bona fide spiritual master 8. Avoid tendency for sense enjoyment 9. Understand that we are not this body but spirit soul 10. Always remember Krishna and never forget Him 11.
