Some of the incidents Hamilton Police responded to over the weekend: Variety Store Robbery On November 2nd, 2013 at approximately 10:00 p.m., two masked men entered the Beaver Convenience store on Panabaker Drive. One of the suspects was in possession of a hatchet and the other a knife. Once inside the store the two suspects attacked the clerk, using both the knife and hatchet. The clerk was able to escape, running out of the store but not before receiving injuries to his hands. The suspects remained inside the store and grabbed the till containing an undisclosed amount of cash. With the till in hand the two fled the store in an unknown direction. Both suspects wore ski masks. One male was wearing a green jacket with a grey hoodie, blue pants and gloves. The second suspect was wearing blue jogging pants with a white stripe, grey hoodie, black gloves and carrying an Adidas backpack. The 57-year-old victim was treated by EMS on scene. The Hamilton Police BEAR Unit continues to investigate. Variety Store Robbery On Sunday November 3rd, 2013 at approximately 4:00 a.m., an unknown man entered a Mac’s Variety store on King Street East. Once inside he approached the clerk who was working behind the counter and demanded money. The suspect was dressed all in black, wearing a black hoodie with the hood up, a black mask and black gloves. The suspect made his way behind the counter carrying a grey plastic bag and brandishing a knife. The clerk complied with the demands and opened the till. The clerk placed money from the till into the plastic bag. The suspect then took the bag and fled the store on foot. He was last seen running westbound on King Street. The 20-year-old clerk was not injured. The Hamilton Police Service BEAR Unit continues to investigate. 17-year-old dragged by car (Suspicious Circumstances) On November 2nd 2103 at approximately 3:45 p.m., witnesses contacted police after seeing a man being dragged by vehicle down East 22nd Steet towards MacLennan Street. The vehicle was last seen going west onto MacLennan and the victim was found lying in the street on the northside of Vickers Road. EMS attended and transported the 17-year-old teen to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The vehicle is described as a two door purple or burgundy sedan with tinted windows. Police have learned that the victim left his home to meet with someone but do not know what transpired after this time. The Hamilton Police Division Three Detectives continues to investigate and ask anyone with information to call Det. Morgan Rees at 905-546-3873 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Impaired Driving On November 1st, 2013 at approximately 8:10 p.m., Hamilton Police were alerted to a suspected impaired driver leaving the LCBO on Dundurn Street. A description of the vehicle was provided and it was located in the area of Barton Street West and Locke Street. The driver showed signs of impairment and was arrested. The driver was taken to the police department for a breathalyzer test. The driver blew over two times the legal limit. The 55-year-old St. Ann’s man was released on a Promise to Appear with a charge of Impaired and Over 80 mg. Impaired Driving On November 1st, 2013 at approximately 9:45 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to the area of the 403 and the Lincoln Alexander Parkway after being alerted to a suspected impaired driver. The driver was located and the driver showed signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and taken to the police station for a breathalyzer test. The driver blew over 3 times the legal limit. The 37-year-old Hamilton man was released on a Promise to Appear with a charge of Impaired and Over 80 mg. Impaired Driving On November 3rd, 2013 at approximately 1:45 a.m., Hamilton Police stopped a suspected impaired driver after observing it drifting between lanes on King Street East at Parkdale Avenue. The vehicle was stopped and the driver showed signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and taken to the police station for a breathalyzer test. The driver blew over two times the legal limit. The 48-year-old Caledonia man was released on a Promise to Appear with a charge of Impaired and Over 80 mg. ***There were 5 additional Impaired Incidents over the weekend***
