Some of the little mistakes we fail to point out and correct as a nation. At the ongoing FIFA U-20 Women World Cup in Canada, many Ghanaians have had reservations and complained about the poor kits available to our girls in the competition but these complaints have only lasted for 90minutes behind our TVs and thats just it. Once the game is over, we all forget. Apparently because it is not the pampered Black Stars. Spot this, all the participating countries have been supplied and kitted with the same designs and brands of their senior Male National teams and so there is uniformity. The USA, Nigeria, Brazil, Germany etc girls are using exactly the same brands and design of equipments used by the senior teams during the just ended Word Cup. But why is are the Ghanaian girls using overweight, overlong jerseys clearly of poor quality. Where are the beautiful new Puma Kente Jerseys used by Ghana at the World Cup? Why were the girls not supplied with it when indeed the terms and conditions of the Ghana FA-Puma deal signed on the 12th of October 2005 and Extended on Jan 24, 2008 clearly spelt out that Under the terms of the deal, Puma will provide kit for the Black Stars as well as all the national junior and womens teams. Credit BBC. My checks reveal that the current jerseys been used by the Black Princesses were originally for the Ghana Black Starlets team that participated in the Morroco U-17 Africa Cup. I stand to be corrected by any member or close associate of the Team or GFA who reads this because my attempts to seek clarification have proved futile. Puma has signed a deal with Ghana and just like what the other nations have exhibited, we must impel upon the manufacturing company to honour its part of the agreement ONLY if we have done our part as we claim. Why did Puma not mannufacture the modern brand of jerseys enough to meet the feminine needs as done by other nations? We cannot continue to globally embarrass ourselves through sports. We cannot turn a blind eye to things that will invariably cause us shame. See the pictures of other countries and look at Ghana, how uncomfortable the girls have been tying down their overweight shirts and pulling up their overlong sleeves. Where is Puma, Where is GFA, where is the deal and where are the equipments for our poor girls. All what we the fans know is win win win but nobody is ready to talk about the wrongs been corrected. We need answers. Just answers. BAM
