Some of the scientific reports I have read lately on the future of our world in terms of global warming, climate change and temperature fluctuation is completely astounding. I dont think we are ready for it and not only that, but we are not taking the proper steps toward what the future will hold. This year alone the arctic sea had its biggest ice melt and the average temperature of the arctic was the highest its been in 44,000 years. The long-term consequences of heat trapping emissions have finally caught up with us, even though they have been warning us for decades. The serve impact of global climate has not even been dealt with by the world leaders; instead, they are taking steps to help society adapt to global warming and are planning the exploitation of the minerals and oil that lie beneath the arctic ice. I know this is a rant, but I am pretty sure this will be the most important subject for the next hundred years. I posted the New York Times Science section with the Global Warming and Climate Chronology to show that they have an article on this subject just about every other day for the last ten years and some of the recent studies and articles are worth taking a look at rather the covering your eyes and pretending its not really happening.
