Some of the things I learned in high school havent changed much. They are still torturing students with Animal Farm and Lord of the Flies! When I speak with my friends kids and ask what they are learning, I find their responses frustrate me. Education seems to be mired in the Dark Ages. There is reluctance to embrace change. There are days I feel cheated by the promise of what an education could do for me. It did not prepare me for budgeting a household, planning for retirement, understanding finances and politics nor how the quadratic equation was relevant to anything in the real world(many disagreements with my HS math teacher about this one). So, what do you think? Should Social Media be taught in high school? Oh, in case you too forgot x= -b+- (the square root of b-squared - 4ac)/2a.
