Bringing civilization to the natives in America has meant the same as bring democracy to Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Yemen, Somalia, Pakistan and now to Syria. Im sure the people thought they were right back then, just as the majority do now. Of course theres always a new justification, a new narrative, but its always readily accepted. We, as a people apparently havent learned anything from our past. It will be clear to future generations that our brutality was outrageous, but then they just as likely will be continuing the same outrages under slightly different names. That is IF there is a future that will have them, and at this rate, I doubt this branch in time will survive very long.
