Some of us have been talking meatloaf here lately so we decided to try the Tuesday meatloaf special at Cafe Ten-O-One, 1001 1st Ave. N, St Petersburg. Everything you see here plus a roll (I added the pepper) $6.49 + tax on Tuesdays. We got it to go, food was prepared as promised and was fresh and hot. The green beans tasted like canned but doctored up well in house, not bad. The mashed potatoes tasted real mashed not flakes or instant, very good. The gravy was generic brown gravy. And now onto the meatloaf. Ive heard from several people that they had an excellent meatloaf here so I had high hopes. Unfortunately it did not live up to its reputation today. It was prepared well, not dried up or anything, it just lacked flavor. Very bland, not much flavor to it. My lunch companion ordered the same thing and agreed completely. Still for $6.49 Im not complaining, it filled me up. But I think Ill pass on the meatloaf if I return to Café Ten-O-One.
