Some of us may be under the impression that a Copperhead is a Copperhead. Well guess what. Its not. There are two species Australian Copperhead snakes. Theyre commonly called the Lowland Copperhead (Austrelaps superbus) which are the ones you normally see on this page, and the Highland copperhead (Austrelaps ramsayi) which youll rarely see on this page. Yesterday I got to hang out with another snake catcher from the Alexandra/Eildon area, Tim from Quickstrike Snake and Critter Services. Thankfully while we were out, Tim received a call to come and remove a snake. At the time, I was feeling a little deflated due to spending the morning trying to get my first glimpse of a Highland. You can imagine how I felt when we arrived at the job and it turned out to be that exact species. Stoked is an understatement. :D Cheers all. Stay safe. Steve.
