Some of you expressed an interest in a BCR for a post war diesel. I bought one about 20 years ago and it was called a Battery Eliminator by Vintage Trains. I dont remember what I paid for it, but it has been in this loco for 20 years. It eliminates the corrosion problem while in storage and the horn doesnt blow when the loco is stored upside down ... the Battery Eliminator needs track power. You can see the black wire coming out of the BCR and is soldered to track power (+ = center rail). The BCR picks up ground from the battery cover underneath the loco and delivers its 1-5-2V power to horn when the relay is activated by the whistle or bell button on the transformer. My next post has a video of it operating.
