Some of you may have noticed that I havent been posting much this fall. Ive been taking classes at Manhattan Area Technical College in accounting. I graduated from KSU in 1978, and this fall has been, without question, the hardest semester of my college career. Maybe it is because Im older and would like to actually understand the stuff Im studying, which takes more time. But, along with that, the increased dependence on computers has made it a whole different way of learning. For years I worked at Varneys Book Store and watched the extra web access cards, which claimed to be filled with wonderful study aid materials, come back unopened during textbook buyback. This semester Ive learned how valuable and helpful some of those extra resources really are. To any of you that are currently nontraditional students, I wish you the best in your endeavors. If youve been thinking about going back to school, I would sure encourage you to give it a try -- 2015 may be your year!
